South Africa is being spoilt with so many awesome international acts hauling ass over the oceans to bring us their tunes.
Linkin Park, Uriah Heep, RHCP, Bon Jovi to name but a few… And now, the news has hit the masses: THE PRODIGY is coming to South Africa!
Now, I don’t know about you, but I am EXTREMELY excited!
If you have read more than 3 of my posts, you should know by now that I am not really into the electro scene much. But that’s the thing with The Prodigy, they are pretty much a genre all by themselves. So yes, I will jump, dance and generally freak out when they hit the stage.
However, international awesomeness set aside for a moment, I have to say this: The local acts alone at Synergy Live 2012 would have been enough to make me want to go! In fact, The Prodigy is kinda like a cherry on top of the cake (except it’s not a cherry, it’s a whole extra cake on top of the first cake. With a cherry on top). You can expect to see bands like The Narrow, Zebra & Giraffe, Desmond and the Tutus, Lark (Electro), Wrestlerish, Gangs of Ballet, Bittereinder, Man as Machine and Newtown Knife Gang. For the more electronically inclined amongst us, there’s the Red Bull Studio Live stage featuring Dr Khumalo, Minx, King Rat, Phizist VS Kid Robot, Twelve & Thesis, Tommy Gun, Double Adapter, Reepa and Rudeone.
